Did you know

A Royal bathtub

An exacting and determined man, César Ritz, wanted his hotel to compare with the most beautiful Parisian mansions. "It must be the last word in elegance, the first modern hotel in Paris. I want it to be hygienic, comfortable, and beautiful", he ordered to his architects.

And so, for the first time in the history of the hotel business, a private "king-sized" bath was installed for the Prince of Wales.

Once upon a time

Puttin' on the Ritz

Irving Berlin's "Puttin' on the Ritz", the title song of the classic musical comedy starring Fred Astaire (1929) is another reason why the whole world still literally sings the praises of the Ritz Paris.
